About Me

My photo
Somehow, two years have passed. And Dallin will be flying back to the states on March 26th. It has been quite the adventure! I will encourage him to add his own summary when he gets back...(Living the good life in the Philippines, Quezon City North Mission. Entered the MTC in Provo on April 4, 2012. Flew to the Philippines on Sunday, May 13, 2012. What a great adventure! And what an honor to serve the good people of the Pines!)

2014/02/11 Transfers...Again...

Hey there folks! It's been another week? And another transfer. I can't believe it's transfers again! Time goes so fast. Well, the announcements are in and it's official. I am moving. I will spend the final bit of my mission in San Jose Del Monte with Elder Chipman. I don't know him too well, but I know he's a really good missionary. It's going to be awesome! It will be some solid work. I leave tomorrow. I will miss this area. It's been an incredible six months. Wonderful people. But I'm looking forward to a new ward with new people to teach and a new companion to learn me up!

This week was just awesome. The work has been as good as ever. We did even better than last week. There is so much good happening right now in our area. The ward is more involved than ever. We have more people to teach than ever. We have less actives coming back and investigators progressing towards baptism. And SOO many people working to get married. And tons of people came to church! Sigh. It's wonderful!

I don't really know what else to say. We are in a little bit of a hurry. The sisters have a baptism that we are going to. So we must go. Everything has been wonderful. I couldn't hope for more. We are seeing so many blessings! Just keep sharing the gospel with people around you. You never know who is ready and waiting.

My pics. We have some from our mini MTC that we did. It was wonderful! There was a good turn out. And our missionaries did a really good job with the training they presented. It was a huge success! Then a few pics from my birthday. And...the last pic. That's not rice in our garbage can......

Well, love you all! Make sure to empty the trash regularly and not leave gross stuff in it!

Much love,

Pics for Yellow

2014/02/03 It's Short But it Ain't Yellow

My week wasn't that yellow either. Hope you all got the quote. I'm an old man out here, but I still got it.

This week has been awesome! A mini repeat of last week. Just less days. But we just found cool new investigators, had cool lessons, and things just worked out. For example. One of the cool investigators we found last week just lives a few streets away. So we went to visit. She wasn't home. Her husband was out front showering (a common occurrence here). He invited us right in, told us we'd just have to wait about 5 minutes for him to finish up. He has wonderful faith and we had a great lesson. He wants us to keep coming back. He came to church yesterday and stayed for the whole time. Wonderful family and we have high hopes for them!

We went and visited a lady that the elders used to teach. She dropped them about a year ago. Ready for baptism except for one thing. Needs to get married. We went over last night to talk to her. At the first, she wasn't very excited. But by the end, she agreed to get the papers taken care of for marriage and to allow us to teach her again. That is a temple sealing just waiting to happen.

We had some of our crazy difficult less actives come to church for the second week in a row.

We have another couple that has not been married agree to get working on papers this week.

It's just been a lot of exciting things. We are being extremely blessed right now and seeing the hand of the Lord in our work.

But that's all really. And I'm out of time!  But before I go, pics!

Pics. The first is me at the neighbors house. The man is an incredible painter. Someone gave him a pamphlet and he liked it so much that he painted it on his front gate! Did a pretty good job too! The next is from when we went bowling today and one of the sisters got a turkey. Not even my own bowling I'm showing off, but it was just cool that someone got a turkey on the final frame! Then just me and the bowling crew. Eh, sorry. Not many pics this week. But, we didn't have much play time. Sorry, more next week!

That's all! Have a wonderful week over yonder! Take care!

Much love,

And quick update. our miracle family from last week that just decided to come to church? They came again. And we taught them. And the sister says she knows the church is true just from the way she felt when she walked in. AHHH! Awesome! We'll see what happens there. Anyway. Pics for "Call Me"

2014/01/20 "He took my name and number and said he'd call me..."

Hey there everyone! Guess what? It's been another good week on this end! Weird how that goes, eh? Every week is a good week!

But the reason for the subject line. This week, we did have some trouble getting into lessons because we didn't have any men working with us. Which meant extra time walking around outside looking for new people to teach. We walked past these kids and decided to talk to them. Adorable little kids. Wished them well and went on our way. Passed them again the next day, since we had extra time to find people, and they called us over. They said, "Hey, mom said we are going to come to your church on Sunday". WHAT?! Joke lang yan diba? We have people we teach promise to come to church and then they don't come. We have a woman we've never even met yet that wants to come? Awesome! So we decided to meet her and introduce ourselves. The news was correct, she DID want to come to church. And then she did! She came with all the kids! The members were awesome and took good care of her so we haven't even had all that much time to talk to her. But we have an appointment set to go and teach. She is awesome! So it was another miracle for us this week! It was just one of those, "It's him!" moments. Good times.

Sister Fonacier is also doing just awesome. She and her daughter will be baptized on Saturday. WOOHOO! And it's a triple because the other elders have a sister being baptized too. One of the investigators I was teaching before the area split. So it's an exciting day! The work is rolling along!

Also side note; we had mail run this week. I got letters and packages from people from the ward in Michigan. Some silly dumb elder didn't write their names down, but it was awesome. Don't know if you know who sent them, but if you do, please thank them. I appreciated it!

Weather has been beautiful. It's felt like spring time all week. We've been chatting up all manner of people, finding referrals, tracting, OYMing, all manner of good stuff! It's been a good week! Absolutely nothing to complain about!

We sent out an Elder from our ward this week. Elder Santos. Good man. I'll include pics later.

Other than that, the only news is that Elder Hendrickson and I threw down a mean lunch yesterday. It was so good I have to brag! I'll include pics. And I'll cook it again for all y'all. But it was awesome.

Sorry. A little short on interesting news. You know when a man gets talking about weather and lunch that he must be coming up short on stuff to say. Sorry!

Pics. The first is our leaving missionary. Good man. Worked with us a ton. We'll miss him. The second is just a picture of my area. Because it's beautiful. Then just some pictures from an awesome hike we went on today. Man. We live in a beautiful place. Enjoy! Sorry, no pics of lunch. Didn't fit. Oh well!

That's all though for the week. Take care over there and have a great week! Thanks for your support and prayers!

Much love,

Elder Christensen
